"Briefly?  This man was with me during every stage of my life!  Before I knew his essence of life his energy enveloped me.  He has enveloped me at every life stage before I even knew who he really was.  It was 1982 when I first heard Controversy album, but didn't yet know who he was, just really dug the music.  Then 1999 came out and I was floored.  Bought the album and was listening to it on the down low so my mom wouldn't know the lyrics.  After that I took a trek back to Dirty Mind and really knew I couldn't let my mom find out what I was listening to.  1984 Purple Rain made him more mainstream but also touched my heart and defined my high school experience.  From that point on, anything I could find I had to have and listen to.  All the amazing changes and flips and flops.. I didn't care if it was "popular".. he had me and my soul so I took that trek with him!  His passing devastated me but I am still  huge fan and find something new every time I listen to each album. "
